Rob’s Kitchen

Mum & daughter cookbook celebrates zest for food, travel, and entertaining.

In memory of the author’s mother – a natural-born cook, entertainer, and traveller – Rob’s Kitchen celebrates Robyn Cameron’s remarkable zest for life; one tragically cut short after a 17-year battle with breast cancer.

Filled with Robyn’s passion for Mediterranean food and European travels, Sophia Cameron faithfully recalls her mother’s favourite, signature dishes from handwritten recipes.

Lovingly recreating and sharing more than 60 of them alongside menu suggestions, Sophia has curated a stunningly photographed and designed cookbook in Robyn’s memory.

All profits from this stunning book will be donated to Sweet Louise – helping bring care and support to New Zealand women living with incurable breast cancer.

Robyn Cameron spent much of her life travelling the world studying different cuisines – from the streets of Morocco to the coastlines of Greece. While in Europe, she cooked with Italian grandmothers, took chefs courses in France, and taught others how to cook with nutrient-rich ingredients from the garden.

While fighting breast cancer, she incorporated foods known to nourish the body and boost the immune system into her cooking and reverted to a mainly plant-based diet.

In her lifetime, Robyn perfected the art of creating simple, elegant dishes, made to share with family and friends. Rob’s Kitchen features tantalising dishes designed to bring people together and create a magical atmosphere. Ricotta Stuffed Zucchini Flowers, Lamb & Quince Tagine, followed by Strawberry & Balsamic Gelato anyone? Served with bubbles, naturally.

Sophia says: “As a little girl, there were few days where my mother wasn’t whipping up an incredible creation in the kitchen. Through cooking her food, I am able to step into her world. I can see why she loved it so much and why it made her so happy. It’s not just about the food, but the experiences food can create.”

Rob’s Kitchen is a legacy project like no other. Fusing Robyn and Sophia’s respective food journeys, it celebrates a lifetime of gourmet travels and experiences, with aroha and panache.
