Annual Report 2020 / 2021

2020 has been a year like no other. Like the rest of New Zealand, we faced the first challenges of Covid-19 together.

Our gratitude goes out to all the wonderful New Zealanders and organisations that continued to support women with incurable breast cancer through this time. It is only because of your ongoing generosity that Sweet Louise has been able to continue to provide vital care and support.

As the number of New Zealanders that Sweet Louise supports continues to grow, so does our need for funds. It is because of friends like you that our dream to be able to reach every woman in New Zealand facing a diagnosis of incurable breast cancer is becoming a reality.

We would like to sincerely thank our committed staff and dedicated trustees and volunteers, who have been remarkable at continuing to provide compassionate care and support in such a challenging time.

Annual Report 2019 / 2020

No organisation works harder than Sweet Louise to meet the needs and hopes of New Zealanders living with incurable breast cancer.

Reflecting on the 2019 / 2020 Financial Year, we can’t help but be influenced by how the year has ended. We don’t yet know the longer-term effects of the upheaval and strains of COVID-19 and the associated lockdown, which remains in place as we write this report. The year ahead will surely be one of the most challenging for Sweet Louise. But it is one from which we are confident we will emerge even stronger.

Our members have again during the year, both humbled and energised us. It is their voice that reminds us of the truly valued role we
play in their lives. No organisation works harder to meet the needs and hopes of those living with incurable breast cancer.
Our purpose to improve their quality of life remains as vital today as it ever has been.

Annual Report 2018 / 2019

At Sweet Louise, our mission is to help improve the quality of life for those in Aotearoa living with incurable breast cancer.

We are extremely proud of what has been achieved in 2018 / 2019 and how we are fulfilling the mission of Sweet Louise.

Our membership increased 13% overall this year, compared with the previous financial year. As at the end of March 2019, we had 670 members throughout the country. However, this one number does not tell the full story. During the year we
gained 281 new members, and lost 205.

Most significantly, the growth in our membership came from the Northland, Auckland and Waikato regions. We are pleased to be supporting more members and that 95% of our members believe that Sweet Louise is making a positive difference to their lives.
