“Sweet Louise is an incredible charity. I enjoy the personal connection and meeting with people who understand what I’m going through. In the support meetings, everybody understands. They act as both a shoulder to cry on and people to laugh with.
“I wanted to raise funds for Sweet Louise and I found hosting a Sweet October event a really easy way to do it. I set up a Facebook event page and invited my friends and family.
“I found having something in the afternoon meant it was more casual and easier to put on.
“Then I sent everyone the link to my fundraising page, so they knew where to donate. When I asked my friends for donations, they were very happy to support me. I find that when something is important to you, those in your life will also support you and donate.”
